Every year the unofficial Rockers vs Mods event on Forest Lane in Westhollow (Forest and Marsh) takes place in the Albertson’s parking lot.

Despite efforts of the organizers to garner support from District councilwoman Ann Margolin or Mayor Mike Rawlings, it presses on.   If the councilwoman or Mayor would support this event it could mean permits for an official annual event that would allow food trucks and events turning this into a street fair of sorts.

This event has a long history in Westhollow as it is this stretch of Forest Lane between Webb Chapel and Marsh where there were numerous drag races and cruising in the 70’s and 80’s by kids attending WT White or TJ High.  As a matter of fact, many couples who met this way eventually married.

There were no incidents reported by DPD proving this to be a safe, fun event for the whole family.

Calls to Mayor Rawlings and Councilwoman Margolin about this story went unreturned.
