A fire alarm went off around 8:15 a.m. today at Forest Dale Senior Citizen Apartments in the 11800 block of Highdale Drive near Forest Lane.

Approximately 50 residents were evacuated from the senior community after the fire was reported.  According to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans, the firefighters were able to bring the fire under control and extinguish it within under an hour.

No one was injured in the fire, and all the residents evacuated into the lobby of the building. The cause of the fire is currently unknown but under investigation.
